MIGRATORY GAME BIRD AND CROW HUNTING SEASONS

Rail and Common Moorhen

Season: September 1 - November 9 Shooting Hours: One-half hour before sunrise to sunset Bag Limits (daily/possession): Clapper & King rails - 15/30 (singly or in aggregate) Sora & Virginia rails - 25/25 (singly or in aggregate) Common Moorhen - 15/30 Purple Gallinule - NO OPEN SEASON

Special September Duck Season

Season: September 21-25 Shooting Hours: One-half hour before sunrise to sunset Legal to Take: Wood Duck, Green-winged Teal, Blue-winged Teal Bag Limit (daily/possession): 4/8. The 4-duck daily bag limit shall consist of no more than two wood ducks.

Waterfowl and Coot Season

Season: First Phase - November 23-December 1 Second Phase - December 7-January 26 Canvasback Season: Closed Pintail Season: November 23-December 1 and December 7-27 Shooting Hours: One-half hour before sunrise to sunset Bag Limit (daily/possession): Ducks -- 6/12. The 6-duck daily limit shall consist of no more than 4 mallards (2 hens); 3 scaup; 1 black duck; 1 pintail, only during pintail season; 1 mottled duck; 1 fulvous whistling duck; 2 wood ducks; 2 redheads; and 4 scoters. All other species of duck (except harlequin ducks) may be taken up to the six-duck daily limit. Taking or attempting to take harlequin ducks or canvasback, is prohibited. Taking or attempting to take pintails, except during the pintail season, is prohibited. Coots -- 15/30 Mergansers -- 5/10 (including no more than 1/2 hooded mergansers).

Limited Duck and Coot Seasons

In Leon County and Lake Miccosukee in Leon and Jefferson counties, waterfowl hunting is permitted on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays during the open season and on November 28-29, December 24, December 26, December 31, January 2, and January 20. Lake Talquin in Gadsden and Leon counties and the Ochlockonee River are open to hunting every day during the regular waterfowl season. During the open season, waterfowl hunting is permitted only on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays in the state waters of the Gulf of Mexico in Hernando County north of Raccoon Point and east of Saddle Key as designated by posted signs.

Limited Canada Goose Season

September Season: September 21-25 Regular Season: November 23 - January 30 Canada geese may be taken only in the Florida waters of Lake Seminole in Jackson County that are south of SR 2, north of the Jim Woodruff Dam and east of SR 271. Shooting Hours: One-half hour before sunrise to sunset. Bag Limit (daily/possession): 5/10 · Taking or attempting to take brant or geese (except as described above) is prohibited.

Limited Light Goose Season
(north and west of the Suwannee River)

(Light geese include snow geese - both blue and white phases - and Ross' geese.) Season: First Phase - November 23-December 1 Second Phase - December 7-January 26 Shooting Hours: One-half hour before sunrise to sunset. Bag Limit (daily/possession): 15/none Taking or attempting to take brant or geese (except as described above) is prohibited.

Youth Waterfowl Hunting Days

Children under 16 years of age may hunt. A non-hunting adult must accompany children. Season: February 1-2 Shooting Hours: One-half hour before sunrise to sunset. Bag Limits: Daily and possession limits and geographic restrictions are the same as those for regular Duck and Coot, Limited Light Goose, Limited Canada Goose, and Common Moorhen seasons (The daily bag limit on common moorhens is 15, and the possession limit is 30) Note: Taking or attempting to take brants or geese, except as noted above under "Limited Canada Goose Hunting," "Limited Light Goose Season" and "Youth Waterfowl Hunting Days," is prohibited.

Mourning and White-Winged Dove

Season: First Phase - October 5-28 Second Phase - November 16-December 1 Third Phase - December 14 - January 12 Shooting Hours: First Phase - 12 Noon to sunset Second & Third phases - One-half hour before sunrise to sunset Bag Limit (daily/possession): 12/24 (including no more than 4/8 white-winged doves)

Snipe

Season: November 1 - February 15 Shooting Hours: One-half hour before sunrise to sunset Bag Limit (daily/possession): 8/16

Woodcock

Season: December 21 - January 19 Shooting Hours: One-half hour before sunrise to sunset Bag Limit (daily/possession): 3/6

Crow

Season: November 9 - January 19. May 10 - November 2 (Saturdays and Sundays only) Shooting Hours: One-half hour before sunrise to sunset Bag Limit: No bag or possession limits.
